Reliable oil spill containment for ports, harbors, terminals and industrial waterways.
LITONG foam filled oil booms combine durable PVC-coated fabric, solid foam flotation and a weighted skirt to provide stable containment for marine and industrial spill-control applications.
LITONG Foam Filled Oil Boom is designed to contain and control floating oil and other surface pollutants in marine and industrial water environments. Its solid flotation system provides continuous buoyancy without the need for inflation, making the boom practical for frequent deployment and long-term installation.
The boom combines durable PVC-coated fabric, internal foam flotation, a weighted underwater skirt and aluminum end connectors to maintain a stable barrier above and below the waterline.
Designed for ports, harbors, oil terminals and other sensitive waterfront areas, the boom can be supplied in customized configurations to meet different project and deployment requirements.
ENGINEERED STRUCTURE
Every component is designed to support buoyancy, stability and reliable deployment.
KEY BENEFITS
Internal foam flotation keeps the boom buoyant without air inflation.
Balanced freeboard, draft and ballast help maintain an effective barrier at the waterline.
No inflation equipment is required, helping simplify handling and installation.
Durable coated fabric supports repeated use in marine and industrial environments.
Individual boom sections can be connected to create longer containment configurations.
Dimensions and configurations can be customized according to project requirements.
HOW IT WORKS
A stable combination of flotation, freeboard, skirt depth and ballast helps control floating pollutants at the water surface.
Position the boom across or around the area where floating oil needs to be controlled.
Float
The internal foam provides continuous buoyancy, keeping the freeboard above the water surface.
Contain
The freeboard helps limit surface oil from passing over the boom, while the submerged skirt extends below the waterline.
Stabilize
The ballast chain helps maintain the boom's vertical position and stability in the water.
Recover
Contained oil can then be concentrated for recovery using appropriate spill-response equipment.

What is a foam filled oil boom?
A foam filled oil boom is a floating containment barrier that uses internal solid foam to provide continuous buoyancy. The freeboard remains above the water surface while the skirt extends below the waterline to help contain floating oil and surface pollutants.
How does a foam filled oil boom work?
The foam float keeps the boom buoyant while the freeboard forms a barrier above the waterline. Below the surface, the skirt and ballast system help maintain the boom's vertical position and limit the movement of floating oil through the containment line.
What is the difference between foam filled and inflatable oil booms?
Foam filled booms use permanent internal flotation and do not require inflation before deployment. Inflatable booms use air chambers and can offer advantages where compact storage is important. The appropriate type depends on deployment frequency, storage, handling and water conditions.
Where are foam filled oil booms commonly used?
Typical applications include ports, harbors, oil terminals, marinas, industrial waterways and spill-response operations. The appropriate boom configuration should be selected according to site and water conditions.
Can LITONG customize the oil boom?
Yes. Customized dimensions and configurations are available according to project requirements. Customers can provide the required total length, deployment environment and application details for evaluation.
